Perdana Leadership Foundation Invites Students and Teachers to Take Part in the ”Learning from Malaysian Leadership and History” Project Contest

Contest Open to Primary and Secondary Schools in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, April 22, 2010 – The Perdana Leadership Foundation (PLF) invites Malaysian primary and secondary schools to submit educational projects on Malaysian leadership and history. The contest is now open and will accept entries through April 30, 2010.

Students and teachers will work together in teams to develop learning projects to present their understanding of Malaysian leadership and history using the Oracle Education Foundation’s ThinkQuest. ThinkQuest is a protected online learning platform that enables teachers to integrate learning projects into their curriculum and students to develop vital 21st century skills, including critical thinking, communication and technology skills.

The Perdana Leadership Foundation has provided students with online access to their extensive digital archives to research their projects. Students can access news clippings, magazine articles and speeches of Prime Ministers. In addition, librarians are available via e-mail to respond to student inquiries.

Teams will participate in one of the following categories; lower primary, upper primary, lower secondary and upper secondary. Over 100 entries representing the work of 800-1000 teachers and students are expected.   Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to top teams in each category.
