NextWindow selects Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management for innovation and growth
Auckland, New Zealand
News Facts
· NextWindow, a New Zealand-based designer and manufacturer of optical touch screens for all-in-one PCs, monitors and large-format displays, has selected Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to manage the exponential demand for its ground-breaking touch screen technology, which is currently used by PC manufacturers HP and Dell.
· This will be the first implementation of Oracle’s Agile PLM in New Zealand.
· As a company projecting significant growth rates over the next 12 months, NextWindow selected Agile PLM to streamline its product development and testing across its three Asian-based manufacturing sites.
· Anticipated benefits of using Agile PLM include maintaining a central point of access for all product design data and the ability to automatically route this information - including design changes - to the appropriate internal parties and customers in a controlled manner. NextWindow anticipates that these capabilities will facilitate communication and collaboration, translating into significant time and money savings, which will be critical to maintaining competitive advantage in the new and rapidly developing touch screen market.
· NextWindow will use Agile PLM to provide the structured development environment required by the world’s PC manufacturers, which use NextWindow’s technology to build optical touch screens for their all-in-one computers. Agile PLM will also allow NextWindow to comply with international quality standards with greater confidence and less risk.
· The Agile PLM solution - the first Oracle application to be used by NextWindow - is anticipated to integrate smoothly into the company’s existing application infrastructure and to start delivering business value relatively quickly.
· The first phase of the implementation will involve introducing Agile to the company’s New Zealand-based product development team and is scheduled to be completed next month. Subsequent phases will involve NextWindow’s Singapore-based operations and its three primary manufacturing sites located in Malaysia, Thailand and China. The extended rollout is expected be completed in the first half of 2010.
